Pippin & Steve (aka "The Thief" and "Her Accomplice") have been so incredibly misbehaved in the past 24 hours. Yesterday, they stole a container holding treats stuffed with Mackey's thyroid meds. Last night, they stole a large canister, somehow pried open the latch on it, and ate almost every single chewy-stick treat in there. Today, a package of half frozen chicken breasts.

They are ffaaarrrrr from innocent lately. I want to kill them.

A First for Me

At my age, I don't have nearly as many firsts as I had as a young chick! Tonight I had the opportunity to transport three bully-breed puppies as they head from a foster home here in Dallas to permanent homes in Minnesota. The Midwest Animal Rescue & Services coordinated the entire trip, leg-by-leg, driver-by-driver. What an organized and smooth operation!

I got the car ready and picked up Miranda, Spirit, and Wind. As I drove them away from their foster mother, I began to tear up. Until getting into foster care, these three pups had a rough start in life. I cannot fathom how people can mistreat these precious animals. After wading through Dallas traffic, we headed north to Oklahoma where I met the driver of the second leg, who took the babies to the home where they are overnighting.

I feel so privileged to have been a part of this rescue, and I hope I have the opportunity to help again. Tonight my heart is full.

Remembering

Please take a moment to watch this beautiful video, and remember to light a candle on October 15th at 7:00pm wherever you are in the world. Leave that candle burning for at least an hour, so one entire day of our world will be honored as remembrance of those babies - our babies - who have been lost to miscarriage, stillbirth, or infant death.

I have lit my candle this day, October 15th, for our babies who have left a wound in my heart that will never be completely healed.

Our candle burns for our babies and for your babies. I pray they are all being loved, rocked, cradled, comforted, and playing in Heaven until we meet them there.

Can You Help? (Urgent)

A German Shepherd rescue group called Camp Wolfgang , in Ennis, Texas is closing because of family issues on October 31st.

All the dogs are vetted, spayed/neutered, micro-chipped, well cared-for and many have had training.

They have nearly 200 dogs that must find a foster or be adopted beforeOctober 31st or they will have no choice but to euthanize them all.

If you cannot help by fostering or adopting...YOU CAN STILL HELP!!! Share this on your blog. Email friends and family. Share on social networking sites like Facebook, MySpace, and Twitter. Please forward this information to everyone you know...if we all forward this to everyone we know, chances are good that many of these dogs can be saved!

They do not need or want donations, they simply MUST place all of the dogs.
Adoption fees are $75.00, free to verifiable rescue groups.

You Know Your Pets Are Spoiled When . . .

1. They are visited by Santa Claus each year.

2. You think it's cute when you find them in the trash.

3. They are spoon-fed. Literally, sometimes.

4. Even though they have plenty of fur, you hate for them to be cold.

5. You hate to wake them so you can go to sleep in your own bed.

Yep . . . they're spoiled!
